Recruiting Professionals Talk: Highlights, Lowlights, News, Tips

Highlights, Lowlights, and News of the Recruiting Professional.

WHAT DO YOU THINK?  Discussing now
  1. How do Recruiters communicate better with Jobseekers the mystery of what we do? Craig Fisher inspired this with a great video. How do you manage Recruiter/Jobseeker Roles and Responsibilitieshttp://lnkd.in/pcDzG9   Join the discussion at LinkedIn Recruiting Professionals.
  2. Who Am I? The Role of Human Capital in the Global Workplace  Karen Mattonen, founder of HireCentrix raised this discussion. We recognize that my role has changed. We recognize that we are no longer just a representative of an item on the balance sheet. So if we are now a vital part of the organization and in fact are now corporate assets, however not owned by you what does this mean for your organization? ... http://lnkd.in/QqmQMY
HIGHLIGHTS:
  • 4 TRAITS THAT SEPERATE A GREAT RECRUITER FROM A GOOD ONE: from Kevin Wheeler for ERE.  Great at Networking because of strong interest in people. Marketing and Influencing skills. Leveraging and branding talent uniquely.  They use technology without being consumed by it.  Hmm interesting article, nice summary.  Being from technology I personally feel there is much more we should be doing to help people by demanding more of technology and not wasting so much time just "using it quietly... however the article is good and the processes for improvement do appear to be getting more attention as per the NEXT new blip.
  • SIX SIGMA, AN ULTIMATE PROCESS IMPROVEMENT CYCLE FOR REVOLUTIONIZING HR PROCESSES IS GAINING INTEREST: from HR Strategist, Daniel T. Bloom.  What new market opportunities could Human Resources meet better and more efficiently by applying statistical evidence and proven measures to define measure and improve HR Processes?  The questions and methods have worked for years, and now the approach is getting more than academic interest as an enabler to HR processes.
  • RECRUITER COLD CALLING IS NOT DEAD, its EVOLVED:  There will alway be a practical value in making new clients and talking to strangers, but how cold they are with the benefit of social media really comes into play.  Most agreed that business development is necessary by any means but how "cold" the calling is, and how practical it is was subjective.  Its good to reach out to reach new business or passive candidates, and its an art worth doing well. But "cold" calling or "do not call" messaging and screened influencers, requires something perhaps warmer than cold. Interesting discussion you can follow it here http://lnkd.in/rJUpBM

LOWLIGHTS:
  • ITS HARD TO EXCHANGE JOBS/CANDIDATE INFORMATION:  Apparently systems just do not support the reality of partnering for jobs and candidate sharing across and between systems as no one has shared any secrets or discovered a more efficient systemic or procedural way for efficiently cross posting jobs than copy and pasting manually between many systems. (Archive Discussion Question from Peter at GoBig4.com)
    • FROM ATS Technology we would love to see partnership enablers or plugins that we make it easier to share the "flow" of jobs and talent (resumes).
    • Systemically would love to learn which Applicant tracking systems accept a FEED IN from RSS and then all jobs we created to a given feed could be shared in or out as flagged appropriately..
    • Presently some look to virtual administrators or recruiter trainees or outsource data entry in or out of the various systems, so recruiters are focused then on recruiting, rather than data entry.

WHO DO YOU LOVE:  (In Recruiting, here we will feature radio shows or YouTube Videos on or about Recruiting)

Social Networking & Splits-- Are We thinking big enough?

Social Networking and Social Splits. Are we thinking big enough? Somehow somewhere along the path, we miss the point and value of social networking for business benefit. Who has time? It is something we will do when we either have more time, more money, or more resources to bring. This is where folks miss a very important opportunity. The time to create relationships is NOW from where you are, with who you are..

Splits business should not be viewed as a last resort.. for it is in these partnerships that we get to know one another and create better flow for business development, candidate and job sharing, and most importantly revenue creation.

OUR COMMON BUSINESS INTENTIONS ARE SIMPLE. FOR CLIENTS, PARTNERS, JOBS, CANDIDATES AND WE ENDEAVOR TO SERVE THEM WELL AND MAKE MONEY.

  • What if business were SOO good you just did not have time to hear about hos bad the economy was? OR speculate on how long it was going to be bad enough to impact those you love?

  • What then can we do in business to bring our best selves together in a way that brings us individually and collectively more business?

THERE IS AFFLUENCE AND OPPORTUNITY IN A COMMUNITY OF GENEROSITY. What if your so connnected to other similarly effective people, that the opportunities just flowed to you? No lag time filling job orders. No lack of job orders or business development.. Your candidates were happily working, and your partnerships were growing exponentially.

AWARENESS OF OPPORTUNITY CAN PROGRESS . FEAR OF REJECTION CAN STOP. COURAGE CAN FOCUS CHOICES. We CAN bring our best selves and serve even better successes through challenging our attitude towards being and bringing our personal best. How can we change our attitude towards social networking and splits business to create new business opportunities? Attitude is really everything, in marketing and in life.

BE OPEN AND RECEPTIVE, APPROACHABLE, TO IDEAS AND POSSIBILITIES. REPLACE "I DON'T HAVE TIME FOR SOCIAL NETWORKING" OR "I TRIED IT BEFORE AND IT JUST DIDNT WORK" with an EXPECTATION of putting together your best selves with others for mutual business benefit.

MOTIVATION CAN CREATE EVEN FUTURE ADVANTAGES & BUSINESS CAPACITY. MANY professionals hate rejection so much they quit five minutes before the miracle. This applies to Social Networking and Partnership Splits, as well as our individual business management. Many just rely upon themselves because it is much easier.. but WHAT could happen with a shared focus on creating really meaningful business partnership successes? A shared vision and collaboration could create new markets unknown alone.

BELIEVE IN REVENUE THERE IS PLENTY, AND IT CAN BE YOURS AND OURS. "NEVER HAVING SUCCESS" does not mean "destined for failure. Becoming a good opportunity rainmaker means managing the space and mindset for success. So in an upcoming series we plan to explore Law of Attraction for Recruiting Business Value.

We will explore the secrets of success to forming sound partnerships, co-creating revenues for mutual success, and keepin in touch while the brainstroming, forming, and success stories are written.

Do you have ideas or inputs you would like to discuss as part of this program?
Do you have stories or inspirations you would like to share?

WHAT COULD WE DO IF WE ALL WERE CLEARER AND CONNECTED FOR OUR BEST GOOD? We are expecting great business to come as a result of this social networking project using law of attraction.
